Straddling the A22, South Godstone has a wide selection of housing types where often generation of families have stayed and moved home within the village.
Originally called Lagham, South Godstone is centred on the old medieval moated manor house of Lagham and hosts a broad selection of large and smaller homes to suit all budgets, some in very tucked away locations. This popular village is well connected for transport, being on the A22 and with its own direct train service to London.
Godstone Station has a train line running east-west that is convenient for the major centres of Tonbridge and Guildford and, without changing, the commuter wanting to head north to London. With direct services to London Victoria running throughout the day, the rush hour trains take just under an hour and during the day this improves to 41 minutes. For the international traveller, in just over 30 minutes and a train switch at Redhill, you can reach Gatwick Airport.
With the A22 essentially passing straight through the middle of this village, one of the main appeals is the fast transport links offered to the local residents. The M25 (junction 6) is conveniently just 3 miles to the north in Godstone and East Grinstead 7 miles to the south.
The village is well served by frequent bus services with the 509 service heading north towards Caterham and south towards East Grinstead. Change at Godstone for other routes.
